POSTDOCTORAL OPPORTUNITIES AT MAGEE-WOMEN'S RESEARCH INSTITUTE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Under the mentorship of Dr. Rui Liang, one postdoctoral position is available at the University of Pittsburgh/Magee-Womens Research Institute. The research focus is to understand the impact of diabetes and hyperglycemic memory on innate immune cells by using multidisciplinary approaches including flow cytometry and cell sorting, omics technologies, multiplex analyses, immunohistology, and biochemical analyses. New therapeutics with immune cell-based cellular engineering will be developed to improve the health outcomes of women with diabetes.

Strong candidates are expected to perform independent studies in an intelligent, creative, and focused manner and participate in public speaking, manuscript writing, and presentations. Candidates should perform fellowship training and be able to effectively correspond and work with other team members.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or related fields; experience with epigenetics, genomics, and computational models is preferred.
