Contracts Assistant
The Contracts Assistant will perform administrative work in support of the University’s commercialization of intellectual property and assist with the internal administration of confidentiality agreements, inter-institutional agreements, intellectual property licensing agreements, and amendments to such agreements throughout the commercialization lifecycle from term sheet until agreement expiration or termination.
Job duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Perform administrative work in support of intellectual property licensing agreements and related contracts
- Maintain accurate files/records and databases
- Create and update agreement records in KSS and Salesforce databases
- Review and interpret license agreements and enter pertinent financial/non-financial terms in KSS
- Update KSS agreement records for intellectual property linking
- Document standard operating procedures
- Identify and communicate recommended improvements in procedures and practices on an ongoing basis
- Recommend methods of automation and workflow streamlining within the agreement administration function
Candidate should exhibit knowledge of policies and procedures of both the university and external. The selected candidate must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint, as well as Adobe PDF. Additionally, candidate must be able to work independently and manipulate OIE’s intellectual property database, KSS TechTracS, and other University systems including Salesforce. Position requires an individual who is highly motivated, very well organized, and exhibits exemplary communication skills.

Job Summary
Assists with the identification, development, and oversight of licensing opportunities for intellectual property. Coordinates agreements for the department and supports agreement draft preparations. Performs administrative licensing work and facilitates initial communications with inventors.
