Job Description

Be a part of supporting Mizzou's graduate and professional students and faculty as a communications consultant for MU's Graduate School.

Situated in the Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing, with responsibility for the Graduate School, this dynamic communicator will work closely with other communicators and division faculty and staff to support and promote recruitment, programming, professional development and advising, and tell the stories of our students and faculty.

  • Work with Dean of the Graduate School and Director of Student Communication to develop and implement a strategic communication plan, and work across campus to ensure communication goals, strategies and tactics are integrated throughout the university.
  • Lead and manage communication projects defined in the communications plan such as storytelling, collateral materials, social media, newsletters, annual reports, presentations, talking points, website updates and multimedia projects.
  • Ensure efficient communication with internal stakeholders and external campus divisions and academic units
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and communication with partners related to programs and events.
Shift

Monday – Friday; 8am – 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication abilities (verbal and written)
  • Experience coordinating complex projects and processes
  • Experience working in a team to develop creative assets and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans
  • Experience using project management software to manage assignments, workflow, deadlines and communication
  • Knowledge of best practices, processes and resources required to execute marketing and communication plans across a variety of platforms: social media, web, print, email, display, etc.
  • Skills in photography and/or video production
  • Passion for higher education and the graduate student experience at Mizzou
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $52,000 to $58,000

Grade: GGS-010
