Job Description

We are hiring a Research Specialist II to assist in ongoing research projects to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation in cardiovascular disease. This includes performing duties to facilitate day to day functions of the lab including routine tasks like ordering supplies, preparing solutions, maintenance of equipment, mouse colony management, record keeping, as well as performing various physiological, cellular, molecular and biochemical techniques including mouse colony maintenance, animal surgeries, physiology experiments, primary cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, histology, western blotting and flow cytometry.

Shift

Standard hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in biology or similar field, as well as 1-2 years of laboratory experience in molecular or cellular biology, immunology, physiology, or a related discipline.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.50 - $26.34 hourly

Grade: GGS-008
