Job Description

The Dr. Laxman Gangwani Research Team is pleased to announce an opening for a Research/Lab Technician. This role works with the Gangwani Research team located in the Bond Life Sciences Center at the University of Missouri.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Amplification of RNA and DNA isolated from a variety of cells and tissues using PCR based methods.
  • Site directed mutagenesis, cloning, and sequencing.
  • Perform digital imaging of cells and tissues using microscopes, including confocal microscope.
  • Protein isolation, purification, identification and quantitation using SDS-PAGE, western blot, and Immunoprecipitation analysis.
  • Biochemical assays and methods, including kinase assay, ELISA, RIA, western blot, and immunoprecipitation analysis, etc.
  • Analysis of expression genes and proteins.
  • Preparation and culture of cells and tissue for histological, immunofluorescence, and immunocytochemical analysis.
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of lab and lab equipment, including ordering and receiving supplies, dish washing/autoclaving, preparation of buffers etc.
  • Collection, maintenance of mice genotype data bases, interprets data, and prepare scientific data for presentation in lab meetings.

Monday- Friday 8 am-5 pm

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-004
