Job Description

The School of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, is pleased to announce an opening for a Nurse Practitioner – Specialty Care and/or Physician Assistant Specialty Care to join their expanding team.
This position will provide medical care predominantly in the cardiology clinic setting.

Duties include but are not limited to:
-Independently provide professional medical support services by collaborating with physicians and other staff to promote team-based patient care.
-Educate and set treatment plans, ensuring adherence to therapies. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Acts as a resource person for patients, families, nursing staff and other health care professionals in area of expertise.
-Effectively intercedes with families and patients and resolve concerns related to the delivery of health care services.
-Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems
-Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems.
-Orders/performs diagnostic procedures; monitors patient condition, lab values and results of diagnostic procedures, and develop treatment goals.
- Obtain and document a complete and focused history and physical and be able to relate other aspects of medical information to the surgeons and physicians.
-Assists in the identification of trends related to patients and participates in quality improvement activities.
-Other duties as assigned.

Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

NURSE PRACTITIONER SPECIALTY CARE
Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE
Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in adult Cardiovascular Medicine preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $90,251 - $142,986 annually
Grade: PAT - 012
University Title: NURSE PRACTITIONER SPECIALTY CARE -or- PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE
