Job Description

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of MO – Columbia (MU), Mason Eye Clinic, and MU Healthcare has an immediate opening for an Ophthalmic Hospitalist at the assistant professor or higher on non-tenure track level. Must be board certified or eligible in ophthalmology and licensed in the State of MO by time of appointment. Focus will be on patient care and teaching, with opportunities for research and a limited clinical practice.

This role could require staffing of surgeries during the daytime (i.e. open globes). Duties will include care of emergency, triage and consultation patients, leadership in the ophthalmic emergency care and inpatient services. The position will also hold their own clinic/OR infrequently throughout the month and train residents and fellows, and will have support from a full complement of subspecialist ophthalmologist colleagues. MU is an academic medical center with outstanding clinical, teaching, and research opportunities. Qualifications

Completion of an approved ophthalmology residency program. Board certification or eligibility, and eligibility for licensure in Missouri are prerequisites. Must be able to obtain medical staff credentialing with MU.
