Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Music

Penn State Behrend's School of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to hire a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer of Music beginning Fall 2024.

Responsibilities of the job will include directing the instrumental music program, including the concert band and pep band, teaching undergraduate courses in the general arts curriculum, and advising students. Additional responsibilities will be determined by the successful candidate's areas of expertise and may include directing the college choir or jazz ensemble. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the program, department, and university through recruitment, departmental and interdisciplinary committees, and ongoing engagement in scholarly, creative, and professional activities.

Applicants must have completed at least a Master's degree in Music or related field by the appointment start date and have expertise in conducting instrumental ensembles.
