    GENERAL PURPOSE

    The assistant will coordinate with the Program Directors to work with students in media production and editing classes, maintain the TV Studio and digital production equipment inventory, equipment repairs, and recommendations on purchasing equipment. The assistant will help students during lab hours with video editing software and in-studio equipment such as Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer, and Final Cut Pro. Occasionally, the assistant may be asked to help students with gaming and virtual reality production and equipment maintenance. The assistant will help produce podcasts and content for the department's social media channels and may have opportunities for in-class instruction such as workshops and equipment demonstrations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Collaborate and maintain communication with students in production classes with facilities assistance on their projects. This includes photo and video editing software and in-studio equipment. Occasionally this will include “critical making” equipment and materials such as Arduinos, Makey Makeys, large format printing, and laser cutting.
    • Maintain the TV Studio, Makerspaces, and Computer Lab, VR and gaming equipment inventory, cameras, equipment repairs, make recommendations on what needs purchasing or repairing, and help with any other studio-related tasks.
    • Assist and act as the liaison between external departments on campus to produce videos and podcasts in the media lab.
    • Oversee the signing in of all field production equipment. Submit a report to the Director of Media Facilities and Department Chair if any piece of equipment is NOT returned or if it is returned damaged.
    • Initiate and produce content for the department of Communication' website and social media channels.
    REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3 to 5 years of work-related experience
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master's Degree

    SALARY INFORMATION

    When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00. This hiring rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
