Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a full-time Two-Year Visiting Assistant Professor in the Management Information Systems (MIS) program, commencing Spring 2024.

Launching in Fall 2023, the new College of STEM Management Information Systems program is designed to meet the needs of current and future professionals interested in computer science-based information technology sector careers.

This appointment will cover a 4/4 course load, on-campus and/or on-line, with the primary responsibility teaching undergraduate Management Information Systems (MIS) courses including, but not limited to, Intro to MIS/Business Programming, Data Base Management, Networks & Telecommunications, Intro to Web Programming, Information Systems Analysis and Design, and Business Data Management & Analysis.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. or ABD in CIS, MIS, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Degree(s) must be from a regionally (SACS, Middle States, North Central, etc.) accredited and recognized institution. They are expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with undergraduate students and the university community.
