Job Summary
The Blood Bank Laboratory Lead will be responsible for overall shift operation in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children's Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.
This position will be instrumental in maintaining a quality of service based on accuracy and timely result reporting. The position will be in charge of blood bank operation at night, and responsible to report unsolved technical problems or employee concerns to blood bank management. The position performs testing include, but is not limited to, type and screen, cross-matching, antibody workup, elution, absorption, antibody titering, neonatal workup, and component preparation.

MLS/BB ( ASCP) or equivalent certification.At least 2 years of previous Blood Bank experience, involving supervisory/employee coaching preferred.
