Job Description Summary:
The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Salina Campus seeks part-time nursing educators to join our progressive and innovative faculty, staff, and students. This is a temporary adjunct position responsible for teaching students in the clinical environment as part of the Traditional BSN Program on the Salina Campus. Other responsibilities include mentoring students and evaluation of educational activities. This position reports to the Salina Campus Dean and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the KU School of Nursing.
Job Description:
The University of Kansas School of Nursing accepts applications for Per Course Faculty to establish a broad and diverse pool of available candidates. By submitting an application for this posting, you are applying to be a part of Per Course Faculty pool for a potential course that may be offered at the School of Nursing in the applicable semester. There may not be a current opening. Applicants are encouraged to check back often and reapply to the pool when the posting is refreshed every 6 months. Salary is paid per course credit hour.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Qualified applicants must have a graduate degree in nursing
- License: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Kansas, or a multi-state RN license issued by another Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey enthusiasm for a nursing career
- Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and with individuals at various organizational and educational levels
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program
- Experience in nursing education or precepting
- 2 years of relevant patient care experience
