Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
The City of Stromsburg is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. Strong accounting skills required plus computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; filing, typing, phone, and 10-key calculator; and people skills. A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in business, accounting, or related field a plus. The position requires bonding and drug testing. Salary commensurate with experience and a benefit package including insurance and retirement provided. The City is an EOE and complies with the Nebraska Veteran’s Preference law.
The Deputy Clerk/Treasurer performs a variety of clerical functions in the
Village Clerks office and assists with a wide variety of duties which include: Answering and
directing telephone calls and responding to general information requests; Accepting and
processing payments and administration of various applications and licenses; and Performing a
variety of routine and complex record keeping for the Village including elections and Village
meetings. The position requires experience in accounting, and financial book keeping or closely
related fields.
