Description
The Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for two (2) full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor levels with a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning Fall 2023. Candidates in all research areas that synergize with our existing strengths will be considered. Example areas include imaging technologies, cancer research and therapeutics, computational bioengineering and biophysics, immuno-engineering, and regenerative engineering. Early-career candidates are expected to demonstrate strong potential to develop and sustain an extramurally-funded research program, while senior-level candidates should have a proven record of impactful and internationally recognized research programs. Senior-level candidates are also expected to possess leadership skills. Applicants will be eligible to apply for an endowed professorship during the hiring process. Candidates will be required to contribute to teaching and service.
Committed to solving the world's greatest health problems through the exploration of new ideas, integrated research and education, the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M is producing the next generation of biomedical engineers making significant advancements for the future of healthcare. With its current 27 core tenured and tenure-track faculty members, 29 affiliated tenured and tenure-track faculty members, four professors of practice, three instructional assistant professors and lecturers, and five research assistant professors, the research program in the department ranges from basic and applied to translational and clinical, as well as plays pivotal roles in a number of related initiatives.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely-related discipline.
