Lift Station Supervisor - Utility Operations
Sarasota County Government is seeking a Lift Station Supervisor, - Utility Operations for the Public Works Department. The person in this role is responsible for the daily scheduling, coordinating, supervision, technical advising and customer service functions associated with the operations, maintenance and repair of County facilities involving lift stations, S.T.E.P. and low pressure sewer systems, vacuum sewer systems , reclaimed water, and the collection of wastewater including all appurtenances such as valves, meters, cross connection control device, and manholes to ensure the safe, proper and timely maintenance of these systems in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Job Description:

Conduct inspections of all work activities to monitor the effectiveness and timely completion of these activities.

Process and/or review documents such as purchase requisitions, purchase orders, work orders, performance evaluations, bid specifications, invoices and packing slips.

Procure parts, materials and equipment necessary for maintenance operations.

Assist in the implementation, maintenance of and monitoring of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and repair programs to meet our customer service levels.

Responsible for appropriate scheduling of employees, materials and work to effectively and efficiently perform all maintenance activities.

Track vehicle and equipment usage and condition.

Monitor maintenance contractor work to ensure compliance with applicable County codes and standards.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *On-Call is required.
About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Minimum of High School Diploma and four (4) years related experience performing maintenance and general operations work in a field related to the position duties.

A minimum of 1-year supervisory experience is required (lead worker or acting in a supervisory capacity may be counted)

Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Progressively responsible experience in the maintenance operation and repair of mechanical, lift station, vacuum sewer and S.T.E.P. and low pressure systems.

Class C, B, or A State of Florida Collection Certification.

Class A CDL.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Pay Range: $24.06 - $27.71
