Pre Licensed Psychiatric Technician (Safety)
Job Description and Duties
As an employee of the facility Level of Care Registry, a Pre Licensed Psychiatric Technician may be requested to work AM/PM shift, any day of the week and on any residence at the Developmental Center. Under the direction supervisory staff, a PLPT provides direct care, treatment and active treatment for the clients where they are assigned, to develop a better understanding of clients and to help our clients achieve the maximum level of their abilities.
Working Conditions
Typical Working Conditions: Ongoing interaction with clients, personnel and the general public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
Physical Demands: Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance and sensory abilities to perform the duties contained in this duty statement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so.
