Executive Director
The Port of Palm Beach District Board of Commission is recruiting for an Executive Director, with a demonstrated record of experience in Port management, which includes overseeing all operations, functions and activities, as well as tenant oversight and management, within the Port of Palm Beach.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of all Port programs, activities, strategic objectives, budgets, and long-range planning to drive organizational growth and development. The Executive Director is appointed by, and reports to, the Port’s Commissioners, and is guided by local, state and federal regulatory and statutory requirements; approved Port policies; strategic objectives; and authorized budgets and programs. Among other things, the Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and implementing a high-quality sustainable vision that will provide lasting economic benefits to the Port and the region as a whole.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Executive Director is charged with carrying out the mission of the Port of Palm Beach at the direction of and in conjunction with the Commission.
Ensure the development and implementation of the Port’s strategic plan and manage efforts to achieve short and long-term performance goals and objectives.
Direct the management of all Port businesses including finances, procurement, human capital, engineering, maintenance, administration, tenant relations and business development.
Provide vision, motivation, and leadership to personnel towards the achievement of the Port’s mission, strategy, and goals.
Establish long-range and tactical objectives in conjunction with the Board of Commissioners and brief members on issues of interest.
Develop and build relations with external stakeholders in advancing the mission and goals of the Port, build alliances, and develop community relationships. Direct Port’s resources in the interface and communication with governmental, business, and community interests.
Prepares and recommends annual budgets to the Commission in adherence with all required public notices/legal advertisements in adopting budgets.
Direct the effective utilization of the Port’s financial resources in support of the regional economy and maximize the economic impact of the Port’s holdings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree and or (15) years of senior level Seaport industry experience. Experience should be at the director, manager, or administrator level of a public entity, or a major industry corporate entity. Port Industry related certifications and credentials received from Seaport and/or Transportation Associations are highly desirable.
