- Counseling: Provide case management and individual and group counseling services to patients.
- Patient Interviewing: Conducts patient and family interviews in a professional and thorough manner.
- Patient Teaching: Presents educational modules to enhance patient communication skills, coping skills, assertive behavior, etc.
- Treatment Planning: Attends staff meetings and participates in the formulation of treatment and discharge plans.
- Charting: Monitors, measures, and documents patient progress during treatment.
- Represent Behavioral Health in occasional interviews, articles and events as needed for community education.
- Provide guidance and training to Associate and Provisional level Mental Health Counselors
- Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field.
- Must be Licensed Clinical/Certified Social Worker, fully Licensed Professional Counselor or fully Licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Must have completed the required number of clinical hours for professional licensure
- Must be able to function independently and work with a treatment team including psychiatrist, NP's and nursing.
- Must be able to work with insurance companies and businesses to assure optimal patient care.
- Two years' clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric required
- The incumbent must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to work with adult and geriatric patients.
