Clinical Psychologist
Position summary
The New Mexico State University (NMSU) Autism Diagnostic Center is seeking to hire a licensed or licensed eligible clinical psychologist to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary evaluation team.
The psychologist will work with the ADC team to provide comprehensive autism spectrum disorder evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide education to families, caregivers and other professionals. The ACDC provides a variety of opportunities for research, collaboration with NMSU faculty as well as clinical supervision of trainees when available. This position is dependent on the continuation of state contract funds and is not RVU driven.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, integrated service plans and consultation with family members and other professionals.
• Educate family members and caregivers on different strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over of recommendations to community settings.
• Support collaboration throughout the University community.
• Provide supervision and guidance to Graduate Assistants working with the Autism Diagnostic Center.

Required qualifications
• PhD, PsyD, or equivalent in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in New Mexico o Eligible to work in the United States
• Candidates must successfully pass a background check by start date.
• Experience administering Autism Specific Measure
• Qualified to conduct and document NM MAD ABA Stage 1 Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations and Integrated Service Plans for children with ASD and related developmental and behavioral health disorders.
• Have advanced training and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ASD and related neurodevelopment disorders, including knowledge about typical and atypical child development and experience with variability within the ASD population.
• Have advanced training in differential diagnosis of ASD from other developmental, psychiatric, and medical disorders.
• Have experience in, or knowledge of, the medically necessary use of ABA and other empirically supported intervention techniques.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience with interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary diagnostic teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary ABA practice and/or BCBA credential.
• Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship.
• Completion of a LEND training program at a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
• Research reliability using the Autism Specific measure.
• Bilingual Spanish and English language skills.
