MANAGING EDITOR
Provide supervision, editing, training and coaching for news reporters and producers. Oversee daily news planning and production. Develop news content for radio, television, web and mobile. The ideal candidate will be a skilled broadcast and digital storyteller who can produce compelling content and help others to do the same.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or related field plus three (3) years of full-time content creation experience in public broadcasting or a media-related industry; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Live on-air radio hosting experience. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of: audio production techniques and procedures; current issues and concerns of interest to the citizens of Nebraska; resources available for researching Nebraska informational needs; national vehicles available for distributing Nebraska produced news content; and principles and practices of supervision. Ability to: utilize effective interviewing techniques to gather desired information; write clear and succinct scripts for radio, online, and television audiences; record and edit audio; take digital pictures; work effectively with videographers to produce visual stories; train reporters and student workers; edit and mentor news reporters and producers; utilize available audio production systems and techniques for quality sound reproduction; and evaluate current program an
