Examples of Work
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure a specific level of quality of supervision and case management of inmates. Serve as member of the institution executive management team to effectively interface all programmatic areas of inmate life within the institution. Co-chair Institutional Classification Committee. Administer the operations of all security housing units within the facility, including supervision of inmates, inmate moves, unit sanitation, case management, inmate visitation, inmate grievances and ACA compliance. Supervise and evaluate staff.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENT: A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field, and two years corrections experience, of which one year must be in a supervisory position; OR Associate’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field and four years corrections experience, of which one year must be in a supervisory position; OR six years corrections experience, of which one year must be in a supervisory experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
PREFERRED: Custody and/or Housing Unit experience. Bilingual English/Spanish skills desired and assessed.
OTHER: Must have valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
