Pennsylvania State University - Assistant Manager Area 1 and Off-Shift
Penn State's Office of Physical Plant is looking to hire multiple Assistant Managers in our Building Services Department! These positions are responsible for a crew of approximately 10 technicians that address HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance needs for a portion of the University Park campus. The successful candidates will also manage their area’s Supervisors. The entire responsibility includes the direct management of 3-4 supervisors and 10 technicians and the indirect management of 35-45 technicians. This position typically works first shift Monday through Friday and will need to be flexible to meet customer needs.
The position requires the vision and skills required to develop and lead a world class organization including- leadership of both union and staff employees; outstanding customer service skills; ability to identify and capture improvement opportunities; technical knowledge of HVAC – plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance; computer skills; and a proven focus on safety.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
