Code’s Technician

The City of Cumberland will be accepting applications for the position Code’s Technician within the Department of Community Development
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in business or secretarial science and four or more years of progressively responsible administrative support experience including budget preparation, information dissemination, record-keeping and extensive interaction with the general public. Supervisory experience preferred. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. CLASS SUMMARY: Perform technical and administrative support to the Director, Department Manager, Building & Zoning Officers, and Nuisance Officer to assist management in facilitating administrative operations of the department. Supervise clerical staff in the Planning and Zoning intake/reception area which includes, but not limited to permit intakes, complaints, rental registrations, codes information, reporting, etc. Responsible for complex secretarial work involving matters of a confidential nature, exercising independent judgment and discretion based on knowledge of administrative and legislative policies, codes, and requirements.
