Accounts Receivable Clerk
Primary responsibility for the accounts receivable system, including all invoicing of customers, production reports, order reconciliation, order entry, pricing updates, production work orders, standard cost updates, and backup for other office personnel.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Invoice customers as required by bills of landing and production schedule all plant locations.
- Enter new customer orders and send confirmations to customers.
- Generate production work orders for plant management.
- Reconcile customer production and shipments to customer order.
- Close completed orders.
- Set-up and maintain customer accounts on computer and in paper file.
- Maintain invoicing procedures for each customer with current invoicing/quote information.
- Track monthly sales by customer, profit center, and category.
- Balance accounts receivable to general ledger at month-end.
- Prepare annual customer sales report.
- Backup position for front desk and telephone system during breaks and absences, as directed by Accounting Manager.
- Cross-train in accounts payable procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
- Education: High School Diploma Required. A two-year college degree in a related field is preferred. May substitute experience in accounting for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience: Two years prior accounting experience is desirable. Preference will be given to those with applicable experience.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner
- Ability to multitask.
The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, to manipulate keys on a keyboard and view data on a computer screen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb stairs, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
